Therapies Offered:
Dr. Gendron and Dr. Yale employ forms of physical therapy in conjunction with specific, gentle spinal adjustments. The primary purpose of physical therapy is to promote healing of the tissues in the affected areas.
Electrical muscle stimulation is also used in the form of Interferential Current, High Volt Galvanic Current, and Low Volt Current. The greatest effect of these modalities occurs at the myoneural junction (the area where the nerve enters the muscle). This comfortable therapy will help override the established reflex pattern which causes muscular spasms, restricted mobility and production of pain.
Diathermy is an electrical modality which is mainly used for chronic arthritic conditions involving the spine, shoulder hip and knee.
Intersegmental Traction is used to relax the spinal muscles by increasing the circulation and breaking up adhesion or trigger points in the muscles.
Trigger Point, the area of uncontrolled muscle tightness is gently pressed with sustained pressure to relax the area. This helps restore range of motion, reduce muscle spasms, and promotes healing.
